Welcome! I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Political Science at the University of Iowa and currently a College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) Dissertation Writing Fellow. My research focuses on the intersection of political media habits, public opinion, and democratic engagement, with an emphasis on how everyday media consumption shapes political behavior, deepens societal divides, and affects mental well-being in the United States.
My research has received support through several fellowships, awards, and grants, among which are the Doctoral Dissertation Research Improvement Grant (DDRIG) from the American Political Science Association/National Science Foundation, the CLAS Dissertation Writing Fellowship, and the Graduate College Post-Comprehensive Research Fellowship. It was also recently featured in the CLAS April Newsletter, which spotlighted CLAS student researchers and highlighted my work on the impacts of habitual news use on well-being, political attitudes, and polarization.
Please feel free to read more about my research, explore my CV, or contact me with any inquiries.
